During power outages, precision spring mechanism takes over instantly and automatically. Keeps time switch on time up to 16 hours on 24 hour models and up to 24 hours on 7 day models. No resetting needed after resumption of power; spring mechanism rewinds quickly and automatically. In case of frequent outages, reserve need not be fully rewound.
