This clamp is specifically designed for use on self-supporting rural, figure 8 or IM type telephone cable when connecting the messenger to the ground wire. As the clamp is tightening its insulation piercing teeth puncture the insulation of the messenger, eliminating the need for wire stripping and forms a positive ground connetion. The bolt is made of stainless steel.
